Wellesley Island, New York
The Hart House tales begin in 1872, built by Elizer K. Hart and later purchased by George Boldt in 1892. Situated on Wellesley Island, and restored back to a Bed and Breakfast in 2022, The Thousand Island Hart House offers a retreat experience, unique & historic rooms, and many other ways to accommodate you for your next adventure.
The Thousand Island Hart House - aka - The Hart House is a boutique inn with 10 rooms, many with whirlpool tubs and period furniture. The balance of the approximately 9000 square feet are dedicated to large living spaces where the 20 plus overnight guests would find a cozy place to enjoy. Decorated with period furniture, the main living room, the "Porch", the Tranquility room and the small and large dining room are inviting. The grounds include a very large front lawn (with space enough for a tent which could accommodate 150 people), gardens and small patios to enjoy an evening fire, or morning coffee.
The Hart House is a beautiful property which has been brought back to it's earlier grandeur. As such, the Hart House is considered a higher end property catering to guests who want to enjoy the finer parts of the Thousand Islands.
This boutique inn operates as a bed and breakfast, giving guests a wonderful breakfast daily. We also greet our guests with charcuterie and beverage and offer concierge type services and enjoy connections with the country club and boat rentals that are walking distance to the house.
Operating with a liquor license and hired chefs, we have had events such as concerts, mystery dinner theater, hosted birthday parties, retreats, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and even weddings.
