Dahlonega, Georgia
Dahlonega Inn on Main is located just 2 1/2 blocks of the famous Dahlonega square. Dahlonega has been repeatedly featured in Southern LIving magazine as one of the top southern towns to visit and it is known for both its Christmas season and for having three Hallmark Christmas movies filmed there.
Built in 1846, it was the home of Captain Jasper Worley, who was a civil war captain, a Georgia district court judge, justice of the peace, and owner of a paper company, of which many of the newspaper clippings were discovered in the attic during the renovation process. During the 1990-2000's, the inn was known as "The Worley Homestead” as a bed and breakfast for approximately 25 years until around 2010, when the owners became too old and could not physically operate the inn any longer. During the 180 years, the property has seen many changes, additions, and repairs. The home is rigid and solid due to massive boulders as a foundation, and very large chestnut and oak hand-hewn beams as the framing. In the 2.5 years of ownership, current owners have gone to great lengths to ensure the property will be in great condition for many years to come, paying attention to structural integrity, energy efficiency, and maintain the historic significance of one of the first homes in Dahlonega!
